Trond is the CEO of an open innovation company in the USA, a Senior Lecturer at a major university on the East Coast, and also the Managing Director of a boutique consulting shop focused on competitive intelligence as well as idea incubation. He is a Strategy and Business Development Executive, a Speaker, and also the author of a leadership book (2008). He also writes a wine column. Trond was previously the Director of Standards Strategy and Policy EMEA for a large software company. Prior to that, he served as the National Expert on eGovernment at an intergovernmental organization. Trond led a web-based international good practice exchange initiative and secured a 700% membership increase in 4 months of operation. He was the Project Manager on Cleantech as well as Software policy at a Norwegian think tank and a Visiting Fellow at a university on the US West Coast. He has co-founded several start-ups, including a VC funded business incubator, a think tank, and a consulting firm. Trond is a popular speaker at international events, has written dozens of articles and publishes regularly on topics such as e-Government, knowledge management, Internet strategy, and social change. He is an R&D evaluator and the Editor-in-Chief of a European journal. Trond obtained his Ph.D. (2002) in Technology Studies and Sociology from a Norwegian University and holds an MA (1998) in the Sociology of Publishing.
